Andrea D. Turner is a multidisciplinary artist from Birmingham, AL whose work focuses on mixed media, painting, and photography. Her educational journey began at Jefferson State Community College where she earned her associate’s degree in art studio in 2024. There she participated in two art shows winning third place for a mixed media piece she titled “Phenomenal Woman.” During her time at JSCC, she learned new skills such as stippling art, two and three-dimensional art, and sculpture which has catapulted her confidence into new heights. Today she is a student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she is studying art studio with a minor in art history. Turner is looking to graduate in December 2026 where she will earn her Bachelor of Art degree. After graduation, Turner wants to pursue a career at an art museum as an assistant curator while she works on her original work. Turner ultimately wants her artwork to be placed in art galleries all over the world and to make a name for herself. Turner finds inspiration all around her in everyday life mostly through nature and murals she sees in surrounding cities. Turner continues to make art and hopes to be an inspiration to others.
